In 2004, Barbara D. MacAdam set up Divine Designs Studios, LLC as a venue for her inspirational poems & paintings, after the death of her 12 year old daughter, Bonnie Rose, to cancer.  Bonnie's grace, strength, peace, joy for life & her ageless wisdom were "gifts" from God (Bonnie insisted), for trusting that He had the best plan for her...  whatever the outcome (read more on the "Helping Children" page of this site)!  Barbara's goal is to help others "turn to God for what they need" while they're going through their trials, rather than simply "wish" that their circumstances would change. 

Starting with a Baby's Blessing, her inspired "Purple Wishing Gate" painting & a few hand-decorated frames, she effectively began what is now a nationally-known line of poetry, called "The Purple Wishing Gate!^TM...  where wishes made are turned to prayer, so God can keep them in His care!"    With over 30 poems & 15 frame choices, she recently expanded her line to include Note Cards, decorative plaques, and her brand new "limited edition" Christmas Angel Ornament ! 

While this is not a non-profit organization, she does donate 10%-30% of all sales to a variety of charities, hospitals & organizations helping people with life's struggles. Her personal touch is felt in each poem, written from the heart of a servant, dedicated to bringing God's peace, love & guidance into each life that is touched by her poems.  The creation of PurpleWishingGate.com has allowed the line to go international, and she also uses this venue to assist many organizations with their own "Fund Raising" efforts.  

Her work is created in her home-studio & professionally printed on the highest quality stock.  She still "hand-decorates" her frames & the new Angel Ornaments, gives Inspirational Public Speaking engagements, and in her "spare time" she directs a 40-member choir at her local church!   Her ever-growing line of more than 30 inspirational poems, along with her artwork, note cards & ornaments, keeps her busy making each new creation an original B. D. MacAdam "Divine Design!"   After years of using her writing & art skills in the editorial & promotional venues of the publishing industry, and enjoying a 25-year professional singing career on the side, she now uses these creative gifts to help & inspire others.   She resides in South Jersey with her husband of 27 years and her son.
