Crossing the bridge into NJ many times over the years, I'd often look across the river to Philadelphia's skyline. So on this oddly warm December day, almost as a matter of habit, I turned my head to take a look - only to be caught off-guard by what I saw as my car made its way over the crest of the bridge and on to the downward slope... I was barely able to make out the waterfront, as the blustery winds carried a strange "foggy snow” across the water, all the way up to the top of the buildings in a swirling blur. Like a blanket over the skyline, it left me wondering if the noise of the city had fallen into a quiet whisper!
